Phosphate
NPK are the building blocks of all crops. Phosphate has structural roles as part of cell membranes as well as a key role in the main mechanism of energy transfer between cells. We always recommend that normal NPK soil programmes are maintained but with complimentary foliar applications of products containing N, P or K in some crops under certain conditions - see the NPK nutrient page or NPK option in each crop page for details.
